I have been bad not updating this blog, since most of my time spent in the office and work had been a blast since january 2009 started. I can't even remember when I drove my husband to the hospital for an unbearable pain and vomiting one night, but I was widely awake the whole night till we check out 4:30 in the morning (out patient.) But I manage to save this photo in the ER. :) Or maybe I was bored and couldn't sleep.

Anyway, hubby & I were able to start enjoying our summer, yes start. :) went to Bora with some friends Feb 28. Love the beach, love the white sand.

By April, with my parents, will be visiting papa's hometown again, San Remigio & Bantayan Island, yay!
So now I'm making the itinerary.

Monte Vista Night out

Having a dip even the December breeze is here. Anyway, it's a hot spring, I've been wanting to go swimming since I wasn't able to last outing we had (red flag's up). We packed up and our 2 new teammates joined last minute. Left for home to get our stuff and food (since wala sila magawa kami driver, heheh) Yeng, Reina & Aye entertained us for a little singing (not little, prang ayaw na umalis eh) While mark memorizing my heart will of on the piano... LOL. They even played patintero under the full moon. By the time we got to Pansol, it was already 9pm.

I saw about 2 shooting stars, which I later on found out that there was a meteor rain.

According to Pagasa, Geminid is one of the most spectacular annual showers as it sometimes exceeds 100 meteors per hour.

"The Geminid peaks on Dec. 14 to 15, with an average rate of 60 showers per hour," the state weather agency said.

Pagasa said Geminid is active from Dec. 6 to 19, but the best time to watch is in the morning of Dec. 15.

"The best time to look is during the early morning hours between 2 a.m. and dawn," Pagasa said.

Made this for Mharsie and Rhea's baby shower/ "I" time, what they know is that we'll be having an "I" time a "me" time. To be able to get along together, and before our to new teammates join us that following week. By the time, they got to the place, we've prepared the place for a little shower mood, it was a surprise

I'm talking about the Twilight books & movie, yes, I have scouted for the books sad to say the next book New Moon was sold out (maybe because of the movie heheh) But funny, while me & my mother were looking for some craft books at National (After I bought Breaking Dawn from Powerbooks LOL). I was still hoping to find New Moon and the third book Eclipse, thought I know its a bit impossible since I've search over the net already.I really don't know if I was desperate or just really had a queer eye, that I saw an audio book on a shelf about 6ft high and 7ft away from me. My mother laugh, and talas naman daw ng mata ko to see the audio book the far.... (I saw the cut red ribbon and the blooded feather)

Anyway, I found some ebooks of the first 3 books, but I still plan to buy the book when available.
Done reading New Moon, starting Eclipse.... then I'm in the middle part of Breaking Dawn, heheh
Hubby was asking me last night when he saw me with the thick book of Breaking Dawn, was that the next story after Twilight?! I simply smiled and said that this is the 4th, she a vampire now in this book (referring to Bella)
Edward Cullen's a real ideal guy but then again nobody is perfect.... he's a vampire... One beautiful vampire! ;) (actually mas cute yun dad si Carlisle, he looks like Superman Christopher Reeve) LOL!!

Twilight

Will I love this flick? A few weeks ago I asked myself upon seeing Twilight's movie poster at the mall. It seems intriguing. Then just last weekend my cousin texted me the showing date. I was supposed to look on this over the net, but maybe because I was so busy with the plans & programs I wasn't able to search it. All I know is that Harry Potter's Cedric DigGory, (that's what I call him) is a vampire, nothing more, nothing less.

So my cousin's excitement to see the movie, urged me to do as well. Honestly, I just kept on reminding my hubby I'd like to see that film... Buti na lng he remembered and led me straight to the theater last night. ;) I kind a like the film, though I wasn't sure I would like, it seems like a horror film with the "vampire" at the back of mind. But something in ~~Cedric~~ beautiful Edward Cullen (Pattinson's) character makes you fall for him, or it's just me heheh (then I quote hubby's comment, lamang lang ng konting paligo sa kin!) And the way he looked, hay ka inlove talaga sya!

It's a love story, more than anything else. A complicated love story of a human & a different kind of vampire. A Chick Flick! LOL
And now, I'm sourcing for the book series...darn, here I go again.

I found this Grilled Tomatoes a perfect match for the grilled steak the other day. It was a real treat! Ariel & I have a common love for food. I mean a real good food trip (cooking and eating together) is what we enjoy most. =)

Marinated with Black ground pepper , salt, soy sauce, calamansi, I just garnished it with oregano

side dish: buttered potatoes & carrot, plus the grill tomatoes.

Home Alone

Just me at home, hubby's in Tagaytay and will be back tomorrow. My parents picked me up around 12pm and was able to leave the house around pass 1pm heheh.
Anyway, so late in the evening I was making this lumpiang shanghai, I just hope it taste alright =)

And almost before I dozed off, I was scanning the meds my OB gave me, shocks talaga, it's so expensive, a tablet cost Php87.50. hay! I was able to complete the vitamins, I bought from Watson's the other week this Zyme -E, but said that they were only selling b bottles and not by pcs. I needed 60pcs & only 50pcs/bottle. Yeah right, just unlucky.

Last weekend update

Alvin & mayeth (hubby's cousin) tied a knot! The other shots we took from the church were far heheh. So this is the closest I got, unfortunately, the husband (Alvin) was carrying the bride's veil. Where were the Bridesmaids? Well, sometimes I really think that the entourage not only the bridesmaids should KNOW their DUTIES in a wedding. =)

And that Sunday, Little Justin turned 1. =) Though I suffered from the slide I got from kuya's house (with matching ika-ika walk and a really violet aching toe) I was still able to take a few shots from the birthday party.

And oh, we went to my brother house before going to the birthday party, my mother was telling me that my niece, maxine was complaining to her why I don't visit her to their house anymore.
Why daw, don't I visit her in their home. (because 3 weeks in a row, they're the ones who visits us, their house in on renovation kasi, heheh) And with that complaint, I got the SWEETEST HUGS and KISSES when she saw me. ;)

Project: Doll house

Went home to LB last weekend, hubby's in Tagaytay for a summit. I just rode with Tatay Jess. Hubby just picked me that Monday since there's no work that day =)
Hope to get some rest and start my niece's doll house. I have assembled the plastic furniture needed, so I can get started designing the doll house.

Thank goodness, Maxine told her Lola (my mom) that she cannot clean her own mess yet, so she'll get the doll house when she's 6 years old. (she's turning 5 this year) =P

Bro called telling me to call my parents, may tornado daw sya nakita at the Bay(Laguna bay), he's on his way home to Manila. Gah! nobody's answering the phones (PLDT & mama's cell) call ko nga papa ko, nada! Anuber?!
Finally, my mother answered the phone, kaya pala nobody's answering the tornado just passed by our house, leaving damages most to the plants. They're safe, mom telling me how scary was it and how amazingly it formed. I'll chikka my mom when I get home this weekened heheh. My time ti rest. =P

I'm almost done with my collateral for the launch of RL Designer Collection. I'm so glad of the outcome. =) The launching is mid of this month.

Anyway, after this I'm on to the next projects plus preparation for the Holidays, so I'm trying to squeeze a little time for blogging and scrapping :D Two Sundays in a row I was able to spend time with my family went to MOA last Sunday, didn't realize that MOA got new buildings & the dampa at the back of MOA (not the other one, seaside Macapagal) it looks like Baywalk, or is it the new Baywalk? Found at the South part of MOA,where the church we got married resides(Shrine of Jesus)

Saturday, June 8, kuya Jojo, cooked our lunch, on the menu: buttered shrimp, sweet & sour lapu-lapu & buffalo wings. The following day Sunday, it's my family treat naman at Dampa, another seafoods galore lunch. menu, fried shrimp, buttered shrimp, kinilaw, baked tahong(shells), sweet & sour lapu-lapu,& calamares. geez dami no?!my family did enjoy it, so is my little niece she loves calamares so much. =P

And of course the Boracay trip(birthday & Anniv) that my husband gave me.

Cebu: going back to the roots

I wanted to write a detailed one for our trip to my father's home town in Cebu, but as of now I'm back to work and I needed finish some projects though I'm working on the details. Right now I wanted to share some of the beautiful places we visited in San Remigio and Bantayan Islands.

Upon seeing this, we're finally here after 29 years! I can't speak Cebuano, though I understand what they are saying sometimes, I only know how to say a few short lines, which sometimes make my uncles smile. Words and phrases like, "dili," "kaon ta" "asa ta paingon?" & a few more =P
I need to learn, I have to.

San Remigio Beach

The following day we went by Roro boat to Santa Fe, Bantayan. What a beautiful place.

Ariel doesn't even want to leave that place...

I've learned how simple their life is, we sometimes complain when there's no water pouring out of the faucet. You see, my father's getting water from the well so he can take a bath. We get water from this well to clean the fish we bought from the market.
Saya no?! One of the reasons why my father wanted us to go home to see the life he grew from. We were brought up provided all the things we needed, and how glad am I to learn about it.

Anyway, said to be built in 1815, this is the Bantayan Church

we caught these, no actually my cousin & papa did, =P, than papa was getting that tiny seaweeds for me to taste, he made eat it... gladly it taste delicious =P

Ariel and I are here in San Remigio, Cebu, my dad's home town. They live near the shore, right now I'm only blogging thru my fone. Saw these little starfish while me and Ariel are taking a stroll on the beach. Low tide eh, and the sand's so white and fine. It's my first visit to my father's town, a two hour drive from Mactan airport, and Ariel's first time in Cebu. Tomorrow will be going to Bantayan island to visit our other relatives and to go swimming of course. I've got more pics on my cam, but for now I'm stuck with fone blogging. :-)

Mail Theft

My husband's been complaining this morning about not receiving his cellphone bill again. This happened a few months back we're not able to receive our electricity bills . Suspected that the somebody might be stealing the letters from our mailbox. I really don't know why would they do that.

Our mailbox is flip top, no lock so definitely anyone can open it, put and get the mails. And there are times I would find our bills inserted in between the grills of our gate, I don't think they know how to use mailboxes. It's beautiful, doesn't even look like the conventional one, unfortunately despite of its appearance it doesn't have a security lock. I just wished I could find something beautiful and unique, I don't like the typical mailboxes, I want one with a safe lock, if not, the opening should be on the other side of the mailbox so that it's secured and no worries for me and my husband for mail theft.

Tagaytay Roadtrip

Left home about 7:30 in the morning, after a really hectic week. 4-day set up for roadshow, and a nerve breaking demands of work here in there.

Ariel, me, Mazi, Rhea and Mark went to Tagaytay that Saturday(Holiday for us, Muntinlupa day)
On our original itinerary: Residence Inn, Sonya's Garden, Leslie's- Lunch, Pink Sisters, H&M Farms. But we're able to go to other places as well :)

My husband wanted to replace his eyeglasses, having it for more than 3 years. It's really time to replace his eyeglasses. We'll be trying to look at Zenni Optical: Sell Rx Glasses $8 with case! We tried looking for some, unfortunately too expensive for an eyeglass. While Zenni offers great quality, they offer great value as well. Who wouldn't want to try that?

I was chatting with Mahsa yesterday. Unfortunately she had to cut our chatting because she needed to go to the bank. She's really busy these days with studying and having a work now. I wish I could talk to her more often; I've been really missing her. I wish to have something like this
Internet Phone works like a regular phone with low cost rates. Now that would be great for long hours of talking and no more waiting if she’s online or not. There’s this PC to phone soft client that needed to be installed to work. And maybe our other friend Sinia could join us in the 3-way calling feature. Now that would be a real treat!

Health Watch

For sure a lot gain weight this Holiday Season, well that includes me and hubby. Now were back to watching our food intake, less rice to no rice in the evening, can't imagine if health concern is on the line, so we'll keep ourselves healthy and strong. I saw lap-band on the net, it's an option for weight loss surgery available only in the US. The procedure is likely to restrict the food intake without interfering with the normal digestive process. But it states that it not like cutting or rerouting the intestines, no risk of complications. Instead a band, which is reversible and adjustable, is place just before the intestine to make the person feel full. Hmmm Good eh?!

Cleaning up after the Holidays

The holiday season really fun and it’s the time to be with my family and loved ones. But after the celebrations here and there, I’m left with household cleaning. Well, actually me and my husband already divided our chores around the house from cooking down to feeding the dogs. It isn't easy.

I’m really trying to clean the house as much as I could, with our helper gone over the holiday season. Sweeping the floors and maintaining a dust free environment inside the house is not that easy since we both need to go back to work and Sunday's only our free day to do the household chores. I would probably need an Oreck XL21 Bagged Upright Vacuum to aid my cleaning. According to some reviews, it's convenient, light and quiet, definitely fits my need. Specially those parts that are beyond my reach like the surfaces under the bed, I really need a vacuum for that part. And Oreck vacuum cleaners are the efficient ones for these kind of cleaning up.

Holidays 2007

I've been lazy making posts these days :)Let's just say that I took a time off from everything, work, blogging heheh and be just a couch potato for the Holidays :)yikes!

Christmas we all went home to LB, I haven't resized all the photos yet =P(again, lazy me)
This New Year's eve, it's just me and hubby, so I didn't cooked that much, just tuna pasta and a bottle of Baileys.

And there's the bang everywhere...

That morning, my family came :) we celebrated it at our home, yipee. It's our first Holidays, so kuya said that we should celebrate in our place. They brought the food, I meant to cooked, but ma said she'll bring na lang(up to the tomatoes and calamasi to slice, dala!) I just baked some oatmeal cookies and blueberry muffins. Aye let my parents watched DVD Transformers, heheh they love it! mas maganda pa daw sa Superman Returns (i-compare ba?)

And there's kulet again, making kalikot of the stuffs she saw in our house

Well, I packed our Xmas decors last Jan2.

Shopping aint over yet

I'm broke and my legs ached *lol That's because of a two-day shopping, Saturday, with Ariel's older bro and SIL, we went to 168, gosh as if there's a stampede going to Divisoria mall (super dami) Originally we planned to buy a bigger Christmas tree and some home stuff... but end up buying my transparent bag (wish list complete), bags, bags, and more bags, *lol. Manoy got an amp with speakers heheh. Came home late due to traffic.

Came Sunday, we really don't want to leave the house anymore, we're so tired. We planned to bring mama's alkaline water (expensive in LB so we bring them every week to kuya house) and leave na rin. But kuya insisted, he wanted us to go with them to Duty Free, so here we go again (sakit na binti ko waaa!) We didn't brought the car anymore, naki ride na lang kami kina mama, kasya naman kami sa Fortuner lahat heheh.

Hay when we arrived sa Duty Free, my gulay!! prang divisoria, dami tao! *lol
But despite that glad we tag along, bought a lot of goodies pa rin.

Now back to the office ~~busy with work~~ busy with the party preparation. Our party will be this Dec 22, and I have a lot to finish heheh. (absent kasi ng saturday) My little niece will turn 4 now this wednesday but we'll celebrate it Saturday (takas na lang ako sa office party *lol)

My brother's back from Australia, I missed my niece, Maxine. Before they left two weeks ago, I referred my brother to Hotel Reservations site to browse. In case he needed hotels or car rentals if they visited other places. And for to take a look at destination guides to cities can be found on the site of Hotel Reservations for the information of the places he had in mind that they haven’t visited yet and how to get there. I'm glad he was able to check it, they had a good time touring the country.

I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping list. I’ve got 25 godchildren. Now, I need to look a few more for family and for myself of course. Macy’s got the wonderful hobos and totes, I sure my mom would love that. And I like those fragrances from The Body Shop as well. I had this other blog some time in june this year, made an overhaul last week. The thing is I'll be dedicating it to most of office stories, work, designing, digiscrap uhmmm if I can hehehe. Happily Ever After

This movie makes me feel like a kid again. The princess to be, Giselle banished by an evil queen from their musical animated land and fell in the streets of modern-day Manhattan. It's pretty predictable, of course fairytale have happy endings. I like it much better than the Beowulf we watched last week, I was only amaze with the 3D graphics. But what makes this movie different? It's a comedy with a charm. The "kilig" factor is there. ;) Or maybe it's just me, I love fairytales =D

Insured Car

I’ve got an early morning call last Monday from my friend who got caught on a little accident while on the way for work. A bike in the middle of the expressway made a wrong turn and hit my friend’s car, damaging the side mirror and a few scratches on the driver’s door. It was his first encounter of an accident and needed help. So we headed to the police station and told him to meet us there. Though it’s the biker’s fault we have still have to make sure he’s not hurt. Thankfully, my friend’s has car insurance; we needed the police report in making the claim the insurance company. Luckily there is a cheap car insurance available, just like just with some home insurance which is now affordable and surely suits the needs and budget of every family.

EK story

We arrived at EK around 11am, so I hurriedly went off the ticketing office with hubby and grabbed the tickets. Typically, I do the planning and organization every trips and parties my family planned. It's a little bit harder to organize when I moved to a new home. I need to contact them all for the details. :) So actually it's for our granny's tour, we've taken her to Villa Escudero last June, this time to EK. I was really praying that the weather would be beautiful and sunny, because the last time, my cousin told me that lola was so disappointed when it rained hard while on the way to EK.
Our first stop was the 4D:

It was fun but yet it's just the first stop.... after we went to Rialto, then to lunch, while having our lunch at the foodcourt we watched the people yelling at the Log Jam. Funny my cousin's were thinking of all getting wet, but not how high the log will drop. ;) Immediately after lunch hubby & I went to the Amazon Hoop (basketball game). Hubby won this cute Dino.

My Cuz, Nica, who's in fond of stuff toys tried her luck as well,waa...hubby went back to try his luck to get Nica a dino, kaso ayaw talaga mag shoot.

Headed to the Log Jam after some hoops, I guess the 3 (sopi, nica and jane) didn't realized how high the log jam was cause they were still laughing at the other kids after falling and getting wet. Though a little nervous I may say, and we're on the discussion who will go with who in the ride. End up with 3 of them and me with my hubby. Ariel and I were already laughing hard when we heard them scream on the first drop which is lower by the way. At the back of my mind, I was thinking what more with the last drop?! As they reached top of the second drop, we're on our way up. And with the second scream (syet chorus!), we kept on laughing.

And that's where this happened:

When we got off, I saw our maid teary eyed & my other cousin red eyed, and my lola said, kala ko tuwang tuwa, yun pla ngumangawa na. She thought the 3 enjoyed the ride, to her surprise 1 cried other almost cried =P hehehe Sopi, the first one who's really scared, was the one alright among the 3. it was just funny coz after that we looked for our photos in the booth and we're laughing with our shots (bwahahhahahah!!!!!!!!)

Gosh, sarap ihagis sa pool eh! Unfortunately, they didn't want to ride the space shuttle anymore. :(

1. I used to hate swimming, I was afraid of going under the water and thinking that I might drown. Then my mother enrolled me to swimming lesson at Baker Hall in UPLB in grade 4. Since then I'm alright with pools as long as I can see clearly the bottom of the pool, (got a perfecr score in college for the PE class!) but in the beach, it's a different story :)

2. Back in college, I played Ginger Spice in one of our projects in Media Production Techniques (create Music Videos, our choice the Spice Girls!) Damn! I was forced by the way, I agreed for the sake of our grades =D

3. I can go for hours of playing the piano, starting with finger practice, then on with the piece, I only pause for a pee and lunch hahaha. Then back to practice. ;)

4. I'm so poor in commuting. All the route I know is from home-office-home. But that's in LB, which is easy because we have a company service. Just last weekend, I went home to LB cause I don't know where's the ride going to San Pedro(Ariel's in QC) and I'm scared of commuting alone. geez I got lost in Makati in twice,the other one, when I was working at HV dela Coasta, near Makati Ave and Gil Puyat, I was supposed to go home, when I rode the wrong jeep, I got off under a bridge, without knowing where that was. I end up being picked at the same spot, never moved an inch & teary-eyed. Found that it was still in Makati ave, just two blocks away from the office. The jeep I got in was going Guadalupe

5. Back in 3rd yr HS, I joined the COCC training to be an officer, (just for a trip since my bro's an officer already and my other cousin as well, so I joined) My mother was so furious whe she found out :) Her exact words, "Pinasok mo yan, tapusin mo yan. nakakahiya pag nag quit ka" (pardon me, it's better in tagalog) the sense, if I quit, I'd be a disgrace. bwahahha. =P Even the students from the other schools could believe it, me known for being shy & a lady (mahinhin, DUH!)
..... hey, I end up being the S1/Adjutant like my bro. =P

6. I met my best friends in HS, these ladies knew everything... as in eveything, hehehe trusted my life with and even the deepest secrets and still is the best sisters I've got.

7. I'm a spoiled brat to my only brother. hehehe We're of the same age for 17 days, his bday's June 27, mine's on June 10, before he turn a year older let say, last June. He's 29, I'd be 29 June 10 before he turn 30 on June 27. hehehe

8. Back in the 1st Grade, I wore this ridiculous chin cup, because of my lower teeth is protruding making me look-like "babalina" bweheheh.

My husband’s a very techie person. He is very picky and specific when it comes to buying his collection of DVDs, players, sound system, equalizer, tv set and more. He really picks carefully of good quality and good cost. I think my husband liked to convert the second room to a small home theater/cinema house. But our place isn’t that spacious enough to put up all the equipment he needs. We yet need to install shelving, sony tv wall brackets, hooks for the wirings and other accessories to put everything in place and making sure that this stuff hangs safely on the walls in case little kids roam around the room to watch some cartoons. Imagine if the tv wall bracket gave in, to what extent of damage will that cost. It’s really important to get the finest and trusted like dekomount, it has a warranty of 18months and guaranteed that it pass the quality standards.

A place for Granny

I really feel so sad whenever I see on the news stories about the grown ups leaving their parents when they got old. Now that made me wonder, I have two grannies, my mom’s aunts, which were on their own ever since, never got married and no children. My other granny died about four months ago and now the other left my two aunts at home. I think they’re still lucky because they had us, grandchildren, nephews and nieces who took care of them. Talk and laugh with and their great grandchildren made them laugh as well. I feel bad for those who were left alone and now seeking for the love and care at that stage in their life, they do need that attention.

Nursing homes have the right people and facilities to take care of the elderly. To help them to cope being alone and lonely. They even have care options like care at home, residential care or finance. For those who needed caring, Bettercare is the place.

Sharing Recipes: Choco-Oat Chip Cookies

Since I snatch some recipes from fellow wifey bloggers, maybe it's time for me to share some on my list :)

Here's the cookies hubby & I baked last week from our vacation

Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened
1¼ cups firmly packed brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt (optional)
2 ½ cups Quaker Oats (quick or old fashion, uncooked)
One 12-ounce package (2 cups) Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional) -I used cashew nuts

1. Heat Oven at 375 ºF.
2. Beat margarine & sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk & vanilla; beat well.
3. Add flour, baking soda & salt; mix well.
4. Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well.
5. Crop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
6. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie; 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie; oven toaster for 3-4 minutes.
7. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely.

About 5 dozen or 2 ½”

I'm rushing with the drafts of our plans & programs... Just wanna share a few. I think my husband's done with his P&P already. This one for the web, with still a lot of notes on it. :D I'm sure of the color, but with what to put heheh, still working on it & with the rest of the line up for these changes. Next year our company will celebrate the 40th Year so we'll be celebrating it with a BANG!

I made this for presentation, this is just one of the calendar of activities we're doing, we have for other channels as well. preparing themes, colors, the things we need to prepare months ahead. More or less we have these guides. Challenging it maybe, but it's just one of the reasons I love my work. If not for this challenges, I won't be here where I am now :D
